Uri Maoz is a cognitive and computational neuroscientist at Chapman University’s Brain Institute, at UCLA, and at Caltech. His work explores how the brain transforms intentions into actions and includes empirical investigations and computational modeling, making frequent use of AI techniques. He has published and taught extensively on intentions and on AI. He collaborates with researchers across many disciplines and has recently led a large, international, interdisciplinary project on intentions in the human brain (https://neurophil-freewill.org/). He also recently published the book Free Will: Philosophers and Neuroscientists in Conversation, co-edited with Walter Sinnott-Armstrong (2022).
