Michael Levin is Vannevar Bush Distinguished Professor at Tufts University and Associate at the Wyss Institute at Harvard. He directs the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts, using an intersection of computer science, behavioral science, and developmental biophysics to study intelligence in a range of unconventional biological, artificial, and hybrid systems. His work studies learning and decision-making in cells and tissues during morphogenesis, to uncover deep principles of biological cognition.

Many current fears, questions, and debates around AI are not really about AI at all - instead, they are merely highlighting ancient, existential human issues. Significant progress will require incorporating the field of Diverse Intelligence, to broaden current neuromorphic biases.
