Frederick Eberhardt is Professor of Philosophy at Caltech with an affiliate appointment in Computing & Mathematical Sciences. He also co-directs Caltech’s Linde Center for Science, Society, and Policy (LCSSP). His research focuses primarily on methods for causal discovery from statistical data, causal representation learning, and the philosophical issues at the foundations of causality and probability. Much of his work is done in close collaboration with experts in statistics, CS and neuroscience. As part of the LCSSP he develops and supports science-policy programs in biotechnology, ethics & AI, and climate & sustainability.
